Why buy the Gtechniq EXO And Crystal Serum Light set and use Crystal Serum Light & EXO v5 together?

Crystal Serum Light is an excellent do-it-yourself, stand-alone coating that offers unmatched gloss and gloss retention due to its excellent resistance to wax scratches. However, its water repellency falls short of what Gtechniq EXO v5 has to offer. Therefore, if you want the best for your car, remarkable wax scratch resistance and water repellency, then this kit is definitely for you. With this, you will also protect the paintwork from chemicals from pH 2 to pH 12 allowing you to safely use any shampoo without affecting the coating.

You can save 20% when buying this kit, compared to buying each product separately.

Why use Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light?

Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light also known as CSL is the private version of the world famous Gtechniq Accredited Detailer Crystal Serum Ultra. It offers 80% of the professional performance of Crystal Serum Ultra, but if applied incorrectly, it can be machine polished off your vehicle's paint which is not the case with the Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra.

Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra and Serum Light are the epitome of paint protection when it comes to adding shine, resisting wax scratches, repelling contaminants, dirt and water.

The Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light can provide up to 5 years of protection for your paint when applied by a Gtechniq Accredited Detailer. However, because it is a very easy to use coating, this can also be achieved by detailers that have not completed Gtechniq training and certification if the use manual is followed carefully and the coating is regularly maintained the Gtechniq C2 Ceramic Sealant! This kind of protection, quality and durability is hardly offered by other brands that are privately available!

Why use Gtechniq EXO v5 Ultra Durable Hydrophobic Coating?

The latest generation of water and dirt repellent coating from Gtechniq is the EXO v5. This coating uses decades of experience in coatings to create the best hydrophobic coating on the market. EXO v5 makes the paint extremely smooth, water and dirt resistant and protects the paint from wax scratches and chemicals.

Because EXO v5 is so water and dirt repellent, dirt adheres much more difficult to the surface so your car will stay clean longer. In addition, the dirt will be much easier to remove during a wash as it will come off much more easily. Because water cannot remain on the paintwork, you also dry your car in record time without leaving water spots. The chemical resistance of EXO v5 ensures that you can also treat your car with non pH neutral agents without the protection completely disappearing. Because EXO v5 is such a hard coating and washing and drying becomes so much easier, the chance of wax scratches is reduced to a minimum!

The EXO v5 is the improved formula of EXO v4. EXO v5 needs only 1 coat for full effectiveness where EXO v4 needed 2 coats. In addition, V5 is also much smoother, more water and dirt repellent and gives the paint better protection against road salt and chemicals than V4.

EXO v5 also has a very user-friendly application. EXO v5 will dry quite slowly on the paint which also makes it more forgiving than other coatings. You will notice that when the coating starts to sweat that it is ready to be wiped off with a microfiber cloth.

The complete process of applying the Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light and Gtechniq EXO v5 coating:

1. Preparation
  1. The process of applying the 2 coatings may take 4 to 5 hours if you are not experienced. Make sure you can work uninterrupted during this period. Washing and polishing the paint is not included in this time frame.
  2. Make sure your vehicle is not in direct sunlight, warmer than 5° degrees Celsius but colder than 25° degrees Celsius. Make sure the vehicle is completely dry and remains dry for at least 12 hours after application and is not exposed to contaminants.
  3. Make sure that you also have Gtechniq Panel Wipe, at least 16 microfiber cloths without edge and weighing at least 400GSM and that you have around 8 applicators available. Gloves are also recommended.
  4. Store the product in a dry, cool place.
  5. Use within 3 months of opening.
2. Paint preparation
  1. Wash and decontaminate your paint thoroughly before applying coatings with a good shampoo, iron remover and tar remover.
  2. If necessary or desired polish the lacquer, by machine or by hand, and remove defects. All defects that are present in the paint before the application of CSL and EXO v5 will remain in the paint for the duration of the coating!
  3. Spray Gtechniq Panel Wipe on a microfiber cloth and wipe each panel in small sections.
3. Application of Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light
  1. Soak the application pad with 3 full measures of CSL from the pipette and work the liquid into the pad to achieve even saturation.
  2. Place the lid back on the bottle and set it aside. Do not hold the bottle in your hand as this promotes premature curing.
  3. Apply in overlapping motions with the AP2 Ultra Soft Foam Filled Applicator to an area approximately 60 by 60 cm.
  4. Remove residue immediately with a microfiber cloth when you see streaks with bubbles. You may need to wipe the same area several times with a microfiber cloth, but avoid doing it with too much force.
  5. We recommend using 2 cloths at a time. Be sure to rotate the cloths during residue removal to prevent CSL from curing in the cloth. Also, replace the cloths with new cloths regularly.
  6. Inspect the surface for residue with a bright light source.
  7. Remove residues of Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light with a microfiber cloth if you still see them anywhere. If you cannot remove it with a microfiber cloth, you can try to re-apply Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light locally and remove it again with a microfiber cloth immediately after application. If you still cannot remove the cured residue you are forced to re-polish the entire panel and reapply the coating to the entire panel.
  8. As soon as you are done, put your microfiber cloths in water, wash and dry them as soon as possible. However, we recommend that you simply discard your microfiber cloths that you used to remove the coating to avoid possible damage to the paint when you next use them.
  9. Wait at least 1 hour after applying Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light CSL before applying Gtechniq EXO v5. In many cases, you are already 1 hour into Gtechniq CSL which allows you to begin applying Gtechniq EXO on the same panel where you started Gtechniq CSL.
4. Application of Gtechniq EXO v5 Coating.
  1. Shake the bottle of EXOv4 well and wear gloves.
  2. Prime the AP2 Ultra Soft Foam Filled Applicator evenly with a good amount of product so that the pad is saturated.
  3. Place the lid back on the bottle and set it aside. Do not hold the bottle in your hand as this promotes premature curing.
  4. Apply in overlapping motions to an area approximately 60 by 60 cm.
  5. Remove the residue after 1 to 2 minutes with a microfiber cloth. You may need to wipe the same area several times with a microfiber cloth, but avoid doing it with too much force.
  6. We recommend using 2 cloths at a time. Be sure to rotate the cloths during residue removal to prevent EXO v5 from curing in the cloth.
  7. Inspect the surface for residue with a bright light source.
  8. Remove residue of Gtechniq EXO v5 with a microfiber cloth if you still see it anywhere. If you cannot get it off with a microfiber cloth, you can try reapplying EXO v5 locally to the area and remove it again with a microfiber cloth immediately after application. If you still cannot remove the cured residue you are forced to re-polish the entire panel and reapply both coatings to the entire panel.
  9. As soon as you are done, put your microfiber cloths in water, wash and dry them as soon as possible. However, we recommend that you simply discard your microfiber cloths that you used to remove the coating to avoid possible damage to the paint when you next use them.
5. Aftercare of the coating
  1. After applying Gtechniq EXO v5, keep the car away from water and dirt for 12 hours. In addition, the car should also remain at temperatures of 5°C and 25°C to ensure proper drying and curing of the coating.
  2. Curing of the coating can be accelerated with a specialized infrared dryer for the lacquer. This can also potentially enhance the hydrophobic properties of the coating.
  3. After the coating has dried we do not recommend washing the car or using other chemicals on the car for the first week. However, if the car gets dirty between the first 24 hours and the following 6 days, you can rinse it with water.
  4. For good coating durability, we recommend maintaining the coating every 2 months with Gtechniq C2 Ceramic Sealant.

Drag Race Mode
